How To Buy Travel Golf Bags
Choosing golf travel bags involves a little more than walking into a store and choosing the most aesthetically pleasing one in the bunch. When you think about the actual purpose of the bag-to protect your clubs-pretty just won't cut it! There are several factors that should be considered when you are choosing the best travel bag for your golf clubs, such as: type of travel and frequency, budget and then finally, preference.
If you are an avid golfer who is lucky enough fly away on golf vacations several times throughout the year then your needs are different than that of a golfer who only on a seldom on occasion will drive up North for a golfing weekend with friends. The type of protection needed for your clubs when you fly requires something a lot more sturdy than you would need for hauling your clubs in and out of the trunk of your car; especially when you consider all of the things that it will have to withstand such as less-than-careful baggage handlers, airport baggage belt systems, cold temperatures and other hazards in aircraft cargo holds (like falling baggage!), etc.
For regular air travel you should be looking at a hard case which will mean a little more of an investment; though one that is well worth it considering that damage to your clubs could really put a damper on your golfing holidy! If your clubs travels will be limited to your car, then a soft travel bag will suffice, though you want to make sure that you still have adequate protection for your clubs when you think of how often they will be pulled into and out of your car, golf carts, etc.
Getting the best in golf travel bags means different things to different people. Those who have the luxury of a large budget may opt for that flashy designer bag, though your everyday golfer should consider function long before fashion because in the end; the flashiest bag doesn't do anything to guarantee the safe arrival of your clubs! Setting out with a budget in mind is always a good idea because the last thing you want to do is get that bag home only to realize that you have just spent more on the bag than on the contents themselves!
Besides, the main purpose of the golf travel bag is to take the beating so that your clubs don't. This means that your bag will soon be scratched and tattered so that designer logo that cost you an arm and a leg will no longer look so great anyway!
